Bettie Hague, 92, of Nixa, MO, passed away at the Putnam County Care Center in Unionville, MO, on Thursday, October 22, 2015. She had been a resident there about one year.

Bettie Jo (Spieker) Hague was born in Norwalk, IA, on July 26, 1923, the daughter of John F. and Gladys (Willet) Spieker, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her husband, Frank G. Hague, her step-mother Margrett Spieker, two brothers, Harry Spieker and Phillip Spieker and two sisters, Norma Torkelson and Helen Rivas. Betty was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Philip Parrish and John Parrish.

Betty is survived by her son, Larry Leroy Miller and wife Karleen of Des Moines, IA and her daughter, Linda Parrish and husband John of Unionville, MO. Additional survivors include a step-son, Larry Hague of Des Moines, IA, a step-daughter, Diana Blanton of Washington DC; a sister, Rebecca Franzeen and husband Curtis of Scranton, IA; grandchildren Randy Ballanger and wife Angie of Greencastle, MO, Kyle Leroy Miller of Florida, Andrea Botkins; and one great grandson, Justin Ballanger, as well as step-great grandchildren Jessica (Ledford) Zuspann, Ely & Alec Botkins, and several nieces and nephews.

Bettie worked for Delavan Manufacturing in Des Moines for several years. She married Frank G. Hague of Des Moines on December 27, 1965 and they resided there until their retirement. They moved to Kimberling City, MO, after retirement and lived there several years before moving to Nixa, MO. Frank passed away in 2009. Bettie moved to Unionville in 2014 to be near her daughter.

Bettie’s wishes were to be cremated with no services. Arrangements are under the direction of Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, Unionville, MO. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and may be entrusted with Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
