Thelma Fern (Ryan) Humphrey 89 of Kirksville passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015.

The daughter of Ira and Bertha (Ruby) Ryan, she was born October 19, 1926 in Ottumwa, IA. On September 1, 1946 she was united in marriage to Henry “Keith” Humphrey and to this union five children were born.

Thelma is survived by her husband, Keith; children, Virginia Sue Bulechek of Queen City, MO, Robert Lee of Fort Madison, IA, Dennis Keith of Downing, MO, and Jerry Dee and wife Crystal of Lisbon, IA; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; three sisters, Phyllis, Mary and Beverly all out of state; one brother, Howard Ryan of St. Charles, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Carl Dean Humphrey; one son-in-law, Ronnie Bulechek; one sister; and three brothers.

Thelma was born and raised in Iowa. She spent most of her married life farming in Missouri.

She was a member of the Kirksville Red Hats, Eastern Star Kirksville chapter #184 O.E.S., and El Kadir Jewels. She enjoyed dancing, traveling and going where ever Keith would take her and an occasional stop at a casino.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday (November 1, 2015) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Pastor Sonny Smyser officiating. Burial will be in Willmathsville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brian Humphrey, Ronnie Bulechek Jr., Chad Humphrey, Robbie Humphrey Jr., Michael Humphrey, Dusty Humphrey, and Jerry Dee Humphrey Jr..

Visitation with the family will be from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the
