Dennis E. Jones
Dennis E. Jones, 71 of Novinger, MO passed away Thursday (October 29, 2015) at Boone Hospital in Columbia, MO.
The son of Nile Eugene and Gladys Oletha (Schillie) Jones, he was born December 24, 1943 in Pure Air, MO. On May 26, 1963 in Novinger he was united in marriage to Janice K. Hocker.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Janice; children, Twila Greathouse and husband Don of Novinger, MO, Tammy Martin and husband Terry of Novinger, MO, Teresa Daniels and husband John of Richmond, MO, and Traci Busker and husband Terry of Allen, TX; 13 grandchildren, Mandy Hanlin, Mike Mahurin, Austin Martin, Courtney Search, Amanda Katzenburger, Vanessa Cummings, Megan and Emma Daniels, Lathan and Kyle Busker, Matt, Brett and Adam Greathouse; 11 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Duane and Randall Jones; Grandson, Joel Martin; and step Grandson, Mike Greathouse.
Dennis grew up in the Novinger area, attending school at Ringo Point and Novinger, where he graduated in 1961. He farmed most of his life in the Novinger area. He hauled milk for several years for Mid America Dairy. He later worked in maintenance at PSF.
He loved going to his kids and grandkids sporting events, spending time with his family, watching Cardinal baseball, working with his team of draft horses, and giving hay rides.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday (November 2, 2015) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Virgil Jones officiating. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Danny Hocker, John Daniels, Terry Busker, Terry Martin, Don Greathouse, Austin Martin, Mike Mahurin, and Andy Grgurich. Honorary bearers will be Lathan and Kyle Busker, Jericho Search, Jeff Hanlin, Clayton Katzenburger, Jon Cummings, Darin Jones, Justin Jones and Billy Pickett.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
