Lois Ruggles

Lois Irene Hurley Ruggles, 89 of Worthington, MO passed away Tuesday morning (November 3, 2015) at Twin Pines Adult Care Center where she had been living since July 30, 2010.

The daughter of Freddy Hinderman and Maude Hurley, she was born on May 2, 1926 in Putnam County, MO. On June 4, 1970 in Centerville, IA she was married to Everett L. Ruggles and to this union 6 children were born.

She is survived by her children, Gary Hurley and wife Sharon of Novinger, MO, Ricky Hurley amd wife Lorraine of Worthington, MO, Ann Bachman and husband Earl of Worthington, MO, Dwight Hurley and wife Joyce of Novinger, MO and Elise Kirkpatrick and husband Ron of Kirksville, MO; grandchildren, Gary Lee Hurley, Tina Hurley Rea, Russel Hurley, Sharon Marie Hurley, Tracy Bachman Robinson, Kathryn Bachman Magers, Richard Hurley, Michael Hurley, Cynthia Hurley Harrelson and Jacqueline Kirkpatrick; several great grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Edith) Ruggles of Greentop, MO; and sisters, Daisy (Luther) May of Novinger, MO and Kathy Cassady of Novinger, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Everett; brothers, Burney (Bill) and Elmer Ruggles; sisters, Rebecca Powless, Dorothy Stevens, Sarah Brookhart; son, Robert (Bob) Hurley and grandson, Jimmy Hurley.

Mrs. Ruggles was reared in Putnam County where she loved farming, making sorghum, canning, listening to music and playing bingo to win all the beads. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her kids and her grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the Dooley Funeral Home with Virgil K. Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Lone Pine Cemetery near Graysville, MO.

Pall bearers will be Jeff May, Gary Lee Hurley, Steve Brookhart, Michael Hurley, Jason Robinson and Shane Cassady.
