Marie M. Wood, 89 of Kirksville passed away Monday (November 9, 2015) at Twin Pines Adult Care Center.
The daughter of Thaddeus and Leona (Moore) Clark, she was born November 17, 1925 in Adair County, MO. On October 12, 1946 in Kirksville she was united in marriage to Floyd C. Wood.
Marie is survived by two daughters, Shirley Morgan and husband Kendall of Hannibal, MO and Wanda Ausmus and husband Craig of Utica, MO; two grandchildren, Amanda Comer and husband Casey of Palmyra, MO and Scott Shaver; and three great grandchildren, Drew Comer, Emily Comer, and Brianna Holtzclaw.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Floyd on Oct. 1, 2008; one son, Larry Wood on Dec. 4, 2008; one granddaughter, Kristen Marie Ausmus on Jan. 10, 2002; twin grandsons, Rodney Alan Shaver on Aug, 14, 1977 and Stephen Eugene Shaver on Aug. 1, 1977; one brother, Robert Clark; and an infant sister, Betty Clark.
Marie attended school in Brashear. She was a homemaker and worked a short time at the International Shoe Factory and 10 years for McGraw Edison.
She loved playing Bingo, and going to gambling boats with her son, Larry. She was a fantastic cook with her best being her fried chicken and chocolate pie.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday (November 14, 2015) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Chaplain Carrol Davenport officiating. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Terry Wood, Melvin Bissey, Randy Powell, Casey Comer, Randy Watson, and Kendall Morgan.
Visitation with the family will be from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
