Mark Farley

Mark Farley passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 24th, 2009 after a battle with cancer. He was 54 years of age.
Mark Arran Farley was born in Princeton, MO, on May 7, 1954, the son of Earnest Allen and Polly (Bunnell) Farley. He graduated from Unionville High School in 1972. He worked for Donald Norris on the farm for a time and then worked in the scale house and as a bull dozer operator for Missouri Mining. He also was a truck driver and worked for Premium Standard Farms.
Mark enjoyed riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles and had ridden across the Midwest with friends and by himself. He had a friendly personality and was close to his circle of friends and his family.
Mark is survived by his mother, Polly Farley, of Unionville, MO, a brother, Eric Farley of Shawnee, KS, and two sisters, Dea Ann Farley of Las Vegas, NV, and Valancy Farley of Newbern, TN. A half-brother, Lonnie Farley of Stewartsville, MO, also survives as well as four nieces, Ellen Thompson, Joanna (Darryl) Lehman, Tracy (Ronnie) Arnold, and Tricia (David) Jones, and a nephew, Louis Farley.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Allen Farley, on June 6, 1980 and by a half-brother, Larry Farley.
Memorial services for Mark Farley were held Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Charley Bill Pittman conducted the service with recorded musical selections, “Hey, Hey, My, My,” “I Almost Cut my Hair,” and “All I Want to do is Have Some Fun.” Mark’s wishes were to be cremated.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Northeast Missouri and may be entrusted with Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th, Unionville, MO, 63565.
