George Olen Anderson, 62, of Harris, Missouri, passed away at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO on Thursday, March 5, 2009.
George Anderson was born on September 3, 1946 in Lucerne, MO, the son of Wess and Beulah (Stark) Anderson. George was united in marriage to Laura Jean Horn in July 1966 and to this union 4 children were born. George worked as a trucker all of his life. He hauled everthing from cattle to lumber for the loggers. He was able to find his niche early in life and enjoyed his trucking career.
George is survived by three of his children, Joyace Dale, Dawn Elizabeth Williams, and Charles Anderson. A special friend, Nancy Eddy survives as well as grandchildren Travis O. Williams, Tyler J. Williams, Laura E. Riggens, Alisha M. Riggens, Ryan W. Hathaway, Michael Shane Dale, Gracie L. Dale, Cheyanne J. Anderson, Elizabeth M. Anderson, and Felisha D. Anderson. One great-grandchild, Jayden Riggen also survives as well as his mother Beulah T. Anderson of Milan, MO. Surviving brothers are Jerry Anderson and wife Betty of Newtown, MO and Joe Anderson and wife Jane of Milan, MO.
In addition to his father and wife, George was proceded in death by an infant daughter Mary Lou Anderson, a sister Mary Ann, and granddaughter Samantha Lynn Dale.
George Anderson’s service was held at the Newtown Baptist Church on Tuesday, March 10th, 2009 at 2:00pm. Jack Parrish officiated while Jack and Toby Smith performed “Fly High Over the Mountains” and “One Day at a Time.” George’s casket bearers were Ned Snyder, Frank Parrish, Charles Eddy, Jerry Anderson, Travis Williams, and Jerry Coon. His honorary bearers included Chuck Small, Wendal Fleshman, and Tyler Williams. George was buried at the Lucerne Cemetery in Lucerne, MO following his service.
Memorial for George are suggested to the family to help defray funeral expenses and may be entrusted to Playle & Jones Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th, Unionville, MO 63565.
