Eva Buck age 69, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, MO.
The daughter of Jacob W. and Bessie B. (Magers) Morris, Eva was born November 1, 1946 in Gifford, MO. On December 26, 1964 in Gifford, MO she was united in marriage to Jerry Lee Buck who preceded her in death on October 31, 2012.
Also preceding her in death were her parents and an aunt and uncle, Goldie and Wever Bragg.
Eva is survived by one son, John Buck and wife, Angie of Kirksville, MO; one daughter, Jennifer Rice and husband, Tom of Kirksville, MO; two grandchildren, Austin Thompson and Tanner Buck; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Maryann Buck of Ottumwa, IA; three nephews, Russell Buck, Richard Buck and Landon Buck and several great nieces and nephews.
Eva was reared in the Gifford, MO area. She attended the Kirksville schools, graduating from the Kirksville Senior High School with the Class of 1964. She went to beauty school and later was a waitress at the Holiday Inn. Eva started her floral career at Kirksville Floral where she worked for many years. She then went to work for Steve Taylor at Taylor Flowers and later purchased the business from Steve, which she operated until her death.
Eva was a member of the Illinois Bend Church, Senior Songsters and Willow Bend Association. She was a survivor of breast cancer and was very active in Relay for Life. Eva was an excellent florist and established a very good business. She was a very kind person and a friend to all who knew her. Eva loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandsons.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Chapel with Reverend John Davison officiating. Musical selections will be “When I Get To Where I am Going” and “How Great Thou Art”. Burial will be in the Chariton Grove Cemetery in Macon, County.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, December 2, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the
