Zachari T. Sands

Zachari Terrance Sands, 29 of LaPlata, MO passed away at his home on December 15, 2015.

The son of Linda Diveley and Ricky Sands, he was born February 2, 1986 in Unionville, MO. He grew up in Unionville until age 10 when the family moved to Van Buren, AR where he was saved and found the Lord. They moved back to Green City where he graduated high school in 2004. He entered the United States Army serving from 2004 until his discharge in 2008. He was currently attended online classes at Colorado Technical University. He worked for U.S. Army Reserve in warehouse supply 2006-2012, Rent A Center as a customer account representative 2007-2011, Title Cash as branch manager 2011-2012 and for KTVO-TV as a marketing consultant 2013-present.

He loved playing and coaching basketball, coaching and helping kids at the YMCA, helping people and fishing.

Zachari is survived by his mother, Linda Sands and husband Steve Pottorff of Kirksville; father, Ricky Sands and wife Shawnery of Unionville, MO; daughter, Haven Carol Sands of Unionville, MO; brother, Nate Sands of Unionville, MO; sister, Ciarra Waszaj and husband Thomas of New Jersey; his grandmother, Madeline Elizabeth Diveley of Kirksville; his grandfather, Robert E. Sands of Unionville, MO; step brothers, Johnathan Nichols, Bryce and Mike Pottorff; niece, Mya Renee Sands; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Vernon O. Diveley and grandmother, Deanna Johnson.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday (December 22, 2015) at the Crossing, 810 W. Shepherd Ave, in Kirksville with Pastor Graeme Golding officiating.

Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
