Levenia Daniels

March 14, 1921 — December 25, 2015

Levenia May (Beard) Daniels was born March 14, 1921 in Kirksville, MO. the daughter of Floyd and Polly (Rucker) Beard.

On April 3, 1942 she married John E. Daniels in St. Louis Missouri. Mr. Daniels preceded her in death on September 5, 1981. She was preceded in death by her parents

Surviving are four sons and families: Stephen and Cathy Daniels, Tyler, TX, children and grandchildren Scott and Kim Daniels of Frisco, TX, Jonathan and Ashlee Daniels and Jacksen Daniels of Tyler, TX: John Alan and Lynda Daniels of Kirksville, MO, children and grandchildren Wendy and Mike Besler of Kirksville, MO and Wyatt and Eyan Yost of Kirksville, MO, Michael Daniels of Harrisonville, MO, and Bryan and Tracy Daniels of Bolivar, MO children Delaney and Devin Daniels: William W. and Janet L. Daniels of Marceline, MO, and Douglas D. Daniels of Columbia, MO, children Brent and Aaron Daniels of Columbia, MO.

Mrs. Daniels attended Kirksville Schools and graduated in 1939. She graduated from NMSU (Truman State University) in 1942 and received a Masters Degree in 1963. She taught in Kirksville, East Elm Grove, and Mulberry rural for 21 years.

She was a member of First Christian Church, Beta Sigma Phi, DAR Ann Haynes Chapter, Jewels of the Shrine Club and Kirksville Country Club. She enjoyed planting and caring for the flowers at the club.

Throughout her life she enjoyed being with family and friends and enjoyed taking vacations to the Bahamas after her retirement. It was not uncommon to see her enjoying the gaming tables. Often she went to golf tournaments to watch her children and grandchildren compete and occasionally placed a wager. She had a love of sports and competition and watched many on television.

In her later years she enjoyed the wonders of nature to include monarch butterflies- her favorite miracle of nature. For years she captured the larva, fed them and then experienced the excitement of them changing to a butterfly. This activity was passed on and continued by her children and grandchildren.

Another interest was the Lewis and Clark expedition. She studied the journey and gave presentations to local groups. She was an outstanding person to her friends, family, acquaintances and community. Her legacy will continue for years to come.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday (December 29, 2015) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Pitney officiating. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens.

Visitation with the family will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday December 29 at the
