Sue Buban passed on December 25, 2015, Sue was preceded in death by her husband Frank Buban, who passed exactly 3 years earlier...to the day.
Sue was born on March 28, 1928, in Brashear, Missouri, but moved to Kirksville at the age of 8. Sue attended Kirksville High School, graduating in 1946. In 1948 she married Frank Joseph Buban, and they were happily married since that date until his passing on December 25, 2012. Sue worked as a long distance operator at Southwestern Bell, she connected the 1st long distance call, from Kirksville Mayor A.L. Bartlett to Governor Phil M. Donnally (in Jefferson City). Sue worked for SW Bell for many years, then worked for Kirksville National Bank until she retired in 1990. She was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Kirksville, loved collecting recipes, flower gardens and her family.
She was survived by her children, Sandi Puentes, and Michael Buban; her grandchildren, Heather Joseph, Nicole Hartje, and Connor Buban; her great-grandchildren, John Joseph, III, Tyler Joseph, and Ella Nicole Joseph.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday (December 30, 2015) with Reverend Don Noble officating at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers are Burt Young, Steve Young, Lyle Creason, and Lynn Creason.
