James Berry, 73 of Kirksville passed away Monday (December 28, 2015) at Northeast Regional Medical Center.
The son of Azle and Marie (Wilkins) Berry, he was born December 4th, 1942 in Kirksville, MO. In February of 1970 he was united in marriage to Ruth Aberdeen who preceded him in death.
James is survived by a daughter, Christina Berry and husband Michael Cramberg of Kirksville; two grandsons, Nathan Berry and wife Sarah of Fayetteville, NC and Lane Kephart of Kirksville; one stepson, Michael Ryder and wife Leeann of Louisville, CO; two step daughters, Jacquie Volk and husband Rocky of Unionville, MO, Ann Finch and husband Jamie of Unionville, MO; one sister, Elizabeth Kellison of Lawrence, KS; one brother, Spencer Berry and wife Connie of Kirksville and numerous step grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Edward Leo Berry.
Jim grew up in Kirksville and graduated from Kirksville High School with the class of 1960. After graduation, he proudly service in the United State Navy until his retirement from armed forces in 1984. In 1991 he retired from Boeing where he was employed as an airplane modification mechanic.
Jim lived by the Golden Rule, had a kind heart, generous spirit, wonderful sense of humor, and never met a stranger. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, keeping up on politics and shooting pool with his buddies.
A private family graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday (January 1, 2016) at Union Temple Cemetery with Virgil Jones officiating.
