Jennell Kelley

Jennell I. Kelley, 85 of Kirksville passed away Monday (December 28, 2015) at Twin Pines Adult Care Center.

The daughter of Fred and Ruby (Shouse) Gonnerman, she was born June 8, 1930 in Kirksville, MO. In November of 1948 she was united in marriage to Clarence Kelley.

Jennell is survived by one son, James Kelley and wife Judy of Knoxville, IA; three grandchildren, Andrew Kelley and wife G, Matthew Kelley and wife Wendi, and Daniel Kelley and wife Tiffany; four great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one great grandson.

Jennell attended Star Elementary School and graduated LaPlata High School in 1948. She farmed with her husband and in the winters she worked at several different business including, International Shoe Factory, Shamrock Restaurant, Osborn’s Meat Market, a poultry process plant in LaPlata, and the Holiday Inn. When her son was young she was a 4-H leader and involved in the PTA. She attended the Wilsontown Church.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday (January 2, 2016) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Darrell Draper officiating. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Doug Clarkson, Danny Clarkson, Joe Clarkson, Mike Ferry, Andrew Haer, and Max Tonkinson.

Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the
