Eloise Sidwell, 93, of Queen City passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016, at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
The daughter of Ray and Nelle (White) Moore, she was born July 9, 1922 at Crawford Station in Scotland County Missouri. She attended Queen City Schools graduating from Queen City High School with the class of 1941.
Eloise was united in marriage to William Lewis Sidwell on June 11, 1944 and to this union three sons were born.
She is survived by her husband Bill; sons, Dennis Sidwell and wife Jean Ann of Kirksville, David Sidwell and wife Jean L, and Curtis Sidwell and wife Trina of Queen City; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a brother, Jerry Moore of Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marylu Schmid.
Eloise attended Kirksville State Teachers College and taught rural school before her marriage. Along with her duties as a farm wife, mother, and grandmother she cooked, sewed, and enjoyed visits with family, especially her grandchildren, neighbors, and friends.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Queen City, Chapter G, P.E.O., Queen City Lion’s/Community Club, Queen City Pioneers, Missouri Cattleman’s Cowbells, and a charter member of the Modern Mrs. Club.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday (January 14, 2016) in the Dooley Funeral Home with Pastor Sonny Smyser officiating. Burial will be in the Queen City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Cole Sidwell, Jason Sidwell, Dylan Frandsen, Dustin Wadle, Aaron Drebes, and Chris Frandsen. Honorary bearers will be Jordan Frandsen, Christian Drebes, and Jacob Sidwell.
Visitation will be Wednesday (January 13, 2016) after 1:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the
