Charles Pratte, Jr.

Chuck Pratte, 63 of Kirksville, passed away Sunday (February 7, 2016) at Northeast Regional Medical Center.

The son of Charles V. and Nellie Joan (Bears) Pratte, he was born July 11, 1952 in Ft. Eustis, VA. He graduated from Kirksville High School in 1970 and then started his family and his career. He worked for Standard Register as a printing press operator for 30 years. He later received his Associates Degree from Moberly Area Community College. He worked for R.A.I.L. as an advocate until he retired in 2015.

Chuck is survived by his mother, Joan Pratte of Springfield, MO; two daughters, Michelle Nevels and husband Wesley of Republic, MO and Melissa Pratte of Kansas City, MO; two grandchildren, Michael and Kaitlin Nevels; two great grandchildren, Noah Nevels and Harper Burnett; one brother, Fred (Ruth) Pratte of Morrisville, MO; two sisters, Becky (John) Sawicki of Harrington Park, NJ and Melanie Schreiber of Springfield, MO; two uncles, Ken Bears of Halltown, MO and Lee Pratte of Centerville, IA and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Chuck was a good friend to many and always willing to lend a hand. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, boating, attending car shows, and relaxing at home watching westerns and the History channel.

Charles will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, 3506 N. National, Springfield, MO on Saturday February 20th at 2:00 p.m. A fellowship time will follow with details provided at the Memorial. Local arrangements by
