Sheila Nielsen

Sheila D. Nielsen, 72 of Kirksville passed away Wednesday (February 10, 016) at Northeast Regional Medical Center.

The daughter of Jesse and Ruth (Fairhill) Reigard, she was born March 7, 1943 in McMinnville, OR. On June 20, 1992 in San Diego, CA she was united in marriage to Keith Nielsen.

Sheila is survived by her husband, Keith; one son, Rick Soltis and wife Joyce Lynn of Lake City, FL; one daughter, Rachelle Shelley Curry and husband Larry of Memphis, MO; nine grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Alan, Shane, Randal and Sadie Soltis, Ashley, Zachary and Brady Curry; two great grandchildren; one brother, Jesse (Cynda) Reigard of Twenty Nine Palms, CA; three sisters, Karen (Roger) Stromberg of Ashburn, VA, Linda (Raymond) Grubbs of Twin Falls, ID, and Cynthia (Van) McClure of Kennesaw, GA; Brothers-in-law, Charles Eaves of Springfield, OR and Paul (Joyce) Nielsen of Cartersville, GA; and five nieces and seven nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Randal Wayne Soltis; one sister, Margaret Sherry Eaves; and one niece.

Sheila grew up in Oregon and graduated from Marshfield High School in 1961. She lived in Hawaii and San Diego, CA where she raised her family. She was working for Master Machine Corp. when she met and married Keith. She retired in 2003. She and Keith moved to Kirksville in 2003 to make their home.

She was a member of Women of the Moose, Senior Circle, YMCA and Hamilton Street Baptist Church. She enjoyed tole painting, all kinds of crafts, and was a good cook and seamstress.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday (February 13, 2016) at Hamilton Street Baptist Church with Reverend Charles Jackson officiating. Interment will be at a later date at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO.

Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 to 11:00 Saturday at the Church. Arrangements by
