Carol Kruse

Carol Jean Myers Kruse, age 77, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016, in Ozark, Missouri.

Carol was born in Kirksville, Missouri, on May 23, 1938, the daughter of George H. “Jack” and Coleen Alphretta Steen Myers.

Carol married Gerald Kruse on June 2, 1962, in Floris, Iowa. Carol and Gerald lived in Keokuk, Iowa for many years then later moved to Ozark, Missouri.

Carol loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and loved to preach the gospel. Carol and Gerald pastored churches in Kahoka, Missouri, and Queen City, Missouri. She worked in the home healthcare field and enjoyed caring for others. For many years she sold Tupperware and House of Lloyd. She enjoyed crocheting. She loved her family and delighted in her grandchildren.

Carol is survived by three daughters, Sherry Ann (Ronald) Horton, Shirley Kay Dierks, Rebecca Coleen Myers and one son, Jerry Jay (Amy) Kruse all of Keokuk, Iowa. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren: Eden (Adam) Johnson, Ronald Horton Jr, Anna (Stefan) Knisely, Amber Dierks, Brittany Dierks, Jaden Dierks, Amiah Dierks, Emily Kruse, Faith Kruse, Kendall, Abigail Kruse and two other grandchildren. She is also survived by three great grandchildren: Ella Johnson, Elizabeth Johnson, and Christopher Vradenburg. She is survived by one brother David (Gretchen) Myers, of Oak Grove, Missouri, and two sisters, Sue (Leroy) Comstock, of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and Joyce LaRue, of Ottumwa, Iowa.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Marvin Kruse; two brothers, George R. Myers and Charlie Myers; and a granddaughter, Erin Horton. Other survivors include a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be at 1:00 P.M. with the funeral services following at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Dooley Funeral Home in Queen City, Missouri, with Rev. Dan Davis officiating. Burial will be at Tarr Cemetery, in Queen City, Missouri.
