Mary Robb
Mary Alice (Camp) Robb, age 88, of Unionville, Missouri, passed away April 21, 2009, at the Unionville hospital. Mary was born, in Pollock, Missouri, June 29, 1920, to the late Walter and Alice (Alexander) Camp. She completed her education through the eighth grade at the Mt. Vernon School. She was the beloved wife of Eldon Robb, whom she married December 24, 1938. The couple spent 64 wonderful years together, living in the Mt. Vernon district for 54 years on the farm where Mary was raised. They moved to Unionville where they lived together for 10 more years. Eldon preceded her in death August 9, 2002, and Mary spent her remaining years in the nursing home.
Although they had no children of their own, Mary poured her love into her nieces, nephews, and neighbor children, becoming a second mother to many. She thoroughly enjoyed having guests - children and adults alike. Mary was an excellent cook and was known especially for her delicious dinner rolls. She also enjoyed participating in church activities. Mary accepted Christ as her Savior and was a faithful member of West Liberty Baptist Church.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband and parents; grandparents - Joshua & Mary Camp and Emmanuel & Letha Alexander; brothers Jesse, William (Pete), Robert, Herbert and Leo; sisters Letha, Dora Yardley, and one half-sister, Virginia Morris; and her dear Uncle Rob. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Mary’s friends and family will greatly miss the sparkle in her eyes and the joy she brought into their lives.
Memorials for Mary are suggested to the Unionville Cemetery and may be entrusted to the Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th, Unionville, MO, 63565.
