Carmelita Madden, 74 of Kirksville passed away Wednesday (February 24, 2016) at her home.
The daughter of Kenneth Russell and Leota Fern (Osborn) Booth, she was born February 2, 1941 in Kirksville, MO. In 1960 she was united in marriage to James Madden.
Carmelita is survived by her husband, James; one son, Douglas Todd Madden of Topeka, KS; one daughter, Robin Lynn Lane and husband Mike of Clifton Springs, NY; four grandchildren, Eric Meadows of Cincinnati, OH, Holly (Dan) Minnis, Cody Ferrell and Anna Ferrell all of Clifton Springs, NY; four great grandchildren; one brother, Mack Booth of Rayville, MO; three sisters-in-law, Martha (Don) Norfolk, Dorothy Harmon, and Arlys Benshoof; one aunt, Pauline Mountain of Kirksville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Bonnie Miller.
Carmelita graduated from Greentop High School in 1959. She was a homemaker and raised her two children in Kankakee, IL. In 1983 they moved to Lake of the Ozarks to make their home and in 2015 moved to Kirksville.
She was a member of the Lakeside Baptist Church in Gravois Mills, MO.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday (February 27, 2016) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Horton officiating.
