Trudy Irene Sanders age 50, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 30, 2016, at her home.

The daughter of Robert Eugene and Judith Carol Levings Pickett, she was born July 19, 1965 in Wheat Ridge, CO. On June 23, 1984 in Kirksville, MO she was united in marriage to Trent Gaines who preceded her in death and to this union two children were born. On July 5, 2014 in Kirksville, MO she was united in marriage to Barry Lee Sanders.

Trudy is survived by her husband, Barry; one son, Graydon Gaines and wife, Ashley of Kirksville; one daughter, Danielle Sanders and husband, John of Kirksville; two step-sons, John P. Sanders and Alonzo Sanders both of Kirksville; two brothers, Steve Pickett of Phoenix, AZ and John Pickett of O’Fallon, MO; one sister, Tamera Gregory of Kirksville; one aunt, Mary Sue Hamilton of Columbia, MO; two grandchildren, Mackinlee Gaines and Lucy Sanders and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister-in-law, Inga Pickett.

Trudy moved to Kirksville with her parents, at an early age. She attended the Kirksville schools graduating from the Kirksville High School with the Class of 1983. She attended Northeast Missouri State University (Truman State University). Trudy enjoyed babysitting which she did for many years. She attended Hair Academy One Ten and worked as a cosmetologist for several years before transferring to work as an in home care giver. Trudy prided herself in taking care of others and she loved being a grandma and called herself GG and Glamma. She liked to cook and travel with Barry.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kirksville, MO.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel with Reverend Richard Northcutt officiating. Musical selections will be “Wind Beneath My Wings” and “The Time Of My Life”. Burial will be in the Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville, MO.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, May 3, 2016 at the
