Kevin Dee Howard, 56, of Unionville, MO passed away at the Putnam County Memorial Hospital on May 7th, 2016 after a brief fight with cancer. Kevin was born on March 14th, 1960 in Unionville, MO, the son of Carl and Joy (Hamilton) Howard. On July 18th 1980, Kevin married Shelle Shultz and two children were born to this devoted union of 35 years. Kevin worked for the city of Unionville as a Journeyman Lineman then later became a Cable Manager, installing both TV and data cables as well as security cameras for Superior Cable and Data. Kevin put his electrical and carpentry skills to work whenever he could to help any family member with their construction projects. Kevin enjoyed his pets, grilling for his family cookouts, and enjoyed the outdoors whenever possible. He loved the Missouri Tigers and the Kansas City Chiefs and could often be found watching a football game or hitting a round of golf. The most important things in Kevin’s life were his family and his children, with Shelle by his side. His life revolved around them and they were a constant on his mind and heart.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Shelle of the home; his son, Tyson Howard and wife Leah of Council Bluffs, IA; and his daughter, Nicole Lutz and husband Eric of Unionville with grandchildren Elexa and Myles Lutz; and his mother, Joy Howard of Kirksville, MO. His surviving siblings are his sister Phyllis Smart of Kansas City, MO, and brothers, Greg Howard and wife Terrie of LaPlata, MO, and Jeff Howard of Kirksville, MO. Kevin is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Clyde and Jenny Shultz, sisters-in-law, Kay Shultz of Unionville, MO and Penny Blue and husband Chuck of Livonia, MO as well as nephew Jeff Shultz; nieces Anjie Baumler, Tricia Shields, Stephanie Howard, Lauren Howard, Cindy Harbert, Mindy Blue, Wendy Blue, and Candy Blue; and many great nephews and nieces.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Carl Lee Howard and brother-in-law, Jerry Bob Shultz.
Memorials for Kevin are suggested to be made to the Unionville First Christian Church and may be entrusted to Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, Mo 63565.
