Berniece Davis

Berniece Davis, 94, of Unionville, MO, passed away at the Putnam County Care Center in Unionville on Wednesday, May 27, 2009. She had been a resident at the Care Center for about six months.
Frances Berniece (Breece) Davis was born on August 23, 1914, in Iowa City, IA, the daughter of Clyde and Blanche Breece who preceded her in death. She moved to Newton, IA, at a very early age and graduated from Newton High School in 1932.
She was united in marriage to D. Wayne Davis of Unionville, MO, on October 11, 1933 and he preceded her in death. To this union one son was born, Robert Wayne Davis, who preceded Berniece in death on November 1, 1992.
Berniece attended Bible college in Minneapolis, MN, and graduated from L. S. F. E. Bible College in Los Angeles, CA. She was an ordained minister and co-pastored churches with her husband. She had also worked as a deputy clerk in Marshalltown, IA.
Berniece was a person with a sweet, godly spirit who loved the Lord. She worshipped faithfully at First Baptist Church in Unionville, MO.
Berniece is survived by five grandchildren: Mark Davis and wife Lynette of Centerville, OH; Gregory Davis and wife Cathy of McCordesville, IN; Andrew Davis and wife Shari; Todd Davis and wife Sandy; and Ned Davis, all of Des Moines, IA. Several nieces and nephews also survive including Boyd and Gary Davis of Unionville, MO.
In addition to her husband and son, Berniece was preceded in death by a sister, Luella, and a brother, Royal. A granddaughter, Margaret, a great grandson, Grant Davis and three brothers-in-law, George, Boyd, and Gerald Davis also preceded Berniece in death.
Funeral services for Berniece will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, with visitation beginning at 9:30 on the day of the service. Interment will be Newton, IA.
