Janice Lea (Petree) Trueblood, 65 of Kirksville passed away Friday morning (June 10, 2016) at her home after a battle with cancer.
The daughter of Leo Francis and Mary Margaret (Knaak) Petree, she was born March 20, 1951 in Kirksville, MO. She graduated from the Kirksville High School with the class of 1969. She received her bachelor’s degree from Northeast Missouri State Teachers College (now Truman State University) in 1973. She did substitute teaching in Northeast Missouri until 1981 when she purchased and open Trueblood Marina.
She loved animal’s especial dogs, was an avid Cardinal fan, had a great sense of humor, and loved having Halloween party for the kids. She enjoyed her customers and boats.
Janice is survived by one brother, Ronnie Petree and wife Carol of Kirksville; one sister, Janie Sparks and husband Preston of Kirksville; and nieces and nephews, Todd (Jamie) Sparks of Kirksville, Bryan Petree of Kirksville, Tracy (Randy) Russell of Overland Park, KS, Jana (Rick) Hyman of Orlando, FL, Joel (Renee) Trueblood of Washington, Rick (Angie) Shuey of Kirksville and Jill Trueblood of Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Respecting her wishes there was a private graveside service held today, Monday (June 13, 2016) at Park View Memorial Gardens with John Picker officiating.
