April Dawn Cureton

April Cureton, 26 of Kirksville left to be in the arms of our lord Friday (June 10, 2016) at her home.

The daughter of Christopher P. and Roxanne (Henke) Cureton, she was born February 12, 1990 in Waukegan, IL. She grew up in Beach Park, IL where she attended Beach Park Schools. In 2007 she moved to Kirksville and graduated from Kirksville High School in 2009.

April was such an outgoing and positive person she lit up a room with her presence. She had a big heart and loved everybody. She loved to draw, the outdoors, kids, animals and playing games. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed going to church groups. In Beach Park she was involved in basketball, R.O.T.C and was in the orchestra where she played the violin.

April is survived by her parents, Christopher and Roxanne Cureton of Kirksville; one sister, Kristie Cureton of Phoenix, AZ; one brother, Paul Cureton of Kirksville; her grandmother, Adele Hamm of Kirksville; one aunt, Danielle Miller of Springfield, MO; her boyfriend, Danny Barnes and his family, several cousins, great aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Edward Henke; step grandfather, James Hamm; great grandparents, Frances and Harvey Taschner; great uncle, Gerald Winters; and great aunt, Diane Harris.

A visitation with the family will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Saturday (June 18, 2016) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.
