Doris Yager, 87 of Carrollton, MO formerly of Kirksville passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 at the Carroll House in Carrollton, MO.

Doris was born on May 8, 1929 in Kirksville, MO, the daughter of Vere Elmer and Mona Mae (Vittetoe) Treasure. On August 9, 1947 in Queen City, MO she was married to Kenneth L. Wade; who preceded her in death on December 5, 1977. In February of 1982 she was married to Dan T. Yager; who preceded her in death on May 9, 2007. Also preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers and four sisters.

Doris is survived by daughters, Phyllis Hazen and husband Jerry of Carrollton, MO and Lana Shafer and husband Randy of Blue Springs, MO; sister, Betty Crane of Jefferson City, MO; brother, Bill Treasure of Kirksville, MO; grandchildren, Angela Hermanson and husband Troy, Nicole Miller and husband Eric, Brock Shafer and wife Beth, Tyler Shafer, Whitney Heim and husband Aaron; great grandchildren, Tanner and Tucker Hermanson, Emily, Calley and Brady Miller, Isaac and Noah Shafer and several nieces and nephews.

She was reared in Kirksville and attended Kirksville Schools. She was a member of Hamilton Street Baptist Church. She lived her later years in Carrollton to be closer to her daughters. The most important things in her life were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She took great pride in providing a wonderful home for all to enjoy.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremy Payne officiating. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are her grandsons and great grandson. Troy Hermanson, Eric Miller, Tanner Hermanson, Brock Shafer, Tyler Shafer and Aaron Heim. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Hazen, Randy Shafer and Bill Treasure.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the youth group at First Baptist Church, in Vinita, OK, where her grandson is the youth pastor. Memorials may be left at the: Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.
