Ina Coleene Haynes 94, of Worthington passed away Friday (May 29, 2009) in Northeast Regional Medical Center.
The daughter of James Monroe and Clara Edna (Davis) West, she was born May 14, 1915 in Putnam County. On October 21, 1932 at Worthington she was united in marriage to William Dennis Haynes who preceded her in death on July 4, 1992. Also preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, Aulbry West.
She is survived by one son, William Monroe Haynes and wife Peggy of Lake Placid, FL; a daughter, Patricia Medon Dentino and husband Robert of San Marcus, TX; six grandchildren, William, Dennis and Patrick Haynes, Douglas and David Dentino and Nancy Herrington, and eleven great grandchildren.
Coleene grew up in the Worthington area and attended the Brassfield rural school and the Worthington and Queen City High Schools. Following her marriage they operated a restaurant in Worthington before moving to Peoria, IL where they owned and operated a small business until retiring in 1971. They then moved to College Mound, MO where they resided until moving back to Worthington in 1979.
She was a member of the Worthington Baptist Church and the Worthington Garden Club.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday (June 2, 2009) in the Worthington Baptist Church with Pastor Roger Bushnell officiating. Music will be provided by Sherry Bratton singing "Take My Hand Precious Lord" and the Congregation singing "Farther Along" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" accompanied by Jana Young organist. Interment will be in the Pleasant Home Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her Grandchildren.
Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. Monday (June 1, 2009) until the time of the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Monday in the
