Stanley Darl Casady

Stanley Darl Casady, 80, of Unionville, MO, passed away at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO, on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, after a battle with leukemia.

Stanley was born in Graysville, MO, on April 10, 1933, the son of Clifford and Amolee (Scott) Casady, who preceded him in death. Stanley graduated from Unionville High School with the class of 1954. He served in the United States Army and Army Reserves from February 10, 1959 until January 31, 1965. After his discharge he remained a life time member of the American Legion Post 34 in Unionville.

Stanley joined the First Christian Church of Unionville as a young man. He had a strong singing voice, singing many specials at church and in the community. He used his talent touring the Midwest with the The Toby and Susie Entertainers Group.

Stanley married Dorothy Medlin on October 11, 1967, and she survives at home. Stanley had many businesses during his adult life. He operated grocery and hardware stores. Stanley took great pride in hard work. He was always busy. Besides being a retail businessman he was a craftsman. He built and restored several homes in Unionville. Stanley was an avid golfer and he and Dorothy enjoyed wintering in Arizona.

Stanley leaves family: his wife Dorothy, brother, Larry (Darlene) Casady; sisters, Zelora (Carl) Letz and Jeannie Casady and sister-in-law Donna (Phil) Birchmier. He also leaves many loved nieces and nephews, and special great nephews Johnathon (Roxanne) and sons Gabriel and Noah Thomas, Seth Thomas, and David Thomas who always knew Stanley as Papa.

A memorial service for Stanley Casady will be at the Unionville First Christian Church in Unionville, MO, at 10:30 am on Saturday, September 10, 2016. The cremains will be interred at a later date.
