Dorothy Lucille (Hoyt) Breeding, 91, of Unionville, MO, passed away at the Putnam County Care Center in Unionville, MO, on Thursday, October 6, 2016, where she had been a resident for several years.
Dorothy was born in Unionville, MO, on August 12, 1925, the daughter of George and Mary (Carter) Hoyt, who preceded her in death. She graduated from Livonia High School in 1943. Dorothy married Roy Stufflebean in 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1959. She married Ben Breeding in 1962 and Ben passed away in 2012.
Dorothy was a long time dietician at the Putnam County Care Center. She particularly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren at every opportunity. Dorothy was a charter member of Broadlawn Baptist Church in Unionville, MO.
Dorothy is survived by a daughter, Neita Collins of Osage Beach, MO, and a son, George Stufflebean and wife Becky of Kirksville, MO. She is also survived by Neita’s daughters, Ronnee (Jerry) Laughlin and Kristi; and George’s son Brett (Kim) Stufflebean and George’s daughter Elizabeth Stufflebean. Dorothy’s great grandchildren are Haley and Katie Laughlin, Raleigh and Alli Johns, Cheyene (Gabe) Vire, Adam Roy Stufflebean, and Abigail Stufflebean, Landon Stufflebean, and Sebastion Shottenkirk. Her great grandson is Aidan Vire.
Others who preceded Dorothy in death were a brother, Forrest Hoyt, and a sister Neita Faye Babbitt.
Dorothy’s body will be cremated at her request. A memorial service will be held at Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2016. Interment will be at the Unionville Cemetery.
