Jeanne McClelland
Neva Jeanne McClelland 78, of Columbia, MO and formerly of Kirksville, MO passed away Friday, July 17, 2009, at the University Hospital in Columbia.
The daughter of Jesse E. and Pearl (Haynie) Beck, Jeanne was born September 28, 1930 in Kirksville, MO. On November 24, 1947 in Kirksville, MO she was united in marriage to Harold Eugene McClelland who preceded her in death.
Jeanne is survived by two sons, Jim McClelland and wife, Brenda of Columbia, MO and Kenny McClelland of Columbia, MO; one daughter, Tracey Hudelson and husband, Kent of Columbia, MO; seven grandchildren, Jenny Maddox and husband Jeff, Abby McClelland, Bobbi McClelland, Jessie Hudelson, James Hudelson, Julie McClelland and Jacob McClelland and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; two brothers, Russell and Roabert Wayne Beck; one sister, Charlene Beck Doty and one son, Harold Eugene McClelland II.
Jeanne was reared in Kirksville where she attended the Kirksville public schools graduating from the Kirksville High School. She worked in the family owned business, the Snack Shop. From 1974 to 1986 she worked at the Kirksville public schools. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kirksville. Jeanne enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren play baseball and she loved to cook.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel with Reverend Brian Evans and Reverend James Preston officiating. Music will be provided by Julia Mikolajczak singing “The Eye Is On The Sparrow” and “No More Night”, accompanied by Dianthe Cable, organist. Burial will be in the Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville, MO.
Pallbearers will be Jacob McClelland, James Hudelson, Billy Branscom, Jeff Maddox, Jim McClelland, Kenny McClelland, Kent Hudelson and Wally Doty II.
Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, until the time of the service at the

The family has requested memorials to the Calvary Baptist Church, 606 Ridgway, Columbia, MO 65201. Contributions can be left at or sent to the funeral home or sent directly to the church.
