Robert Moots

Robert Norman Moots 74 of Kirksville passed away Wednesday (October 19, 2016) at his home.

The son of Robert Henry Moots and Helen Gladys “Whittom” Moots Ratliff, he was born on November 7, 1941 in Kirksville, MO. On November 25, 1966 in Kirksville, he was united in marriage to Mildred Lucille “Rogers” McCarty.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Henry Moots on September 25, 1957 and Helen Gladys “Whittom” Moots Ratliff on May 14, 1993; step-father, Eldon Calhoun Ratliff on October 5, 1992.

Robert is survived by one sister, Betty D. Kigar of Kirksville; one daughter, Ronda Renee “Moots” Lewis of Kirksville; one son, Bob Withrow of Novinger, MO; two grandchildren, Travis K. Lewis and Hilary A. Lewis, both of Kirksville; two great grandchildren, niece and nephew.

He lived in and around Adair County most of his life and most of that time was self-employed. He served in the U.S. Navy when he was younger. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and being outdoors.

Robert’s request was to be cremated and no service will be held. Arrangements under the direction of
