George Edward Gilworth, 94 of Kirksville passed away Tuesday (November 8, 2016) at Northeast Regional Medical Center.
The son of Harry and Wava (Arnold) Gilworth, he was born March 6, 1922 in Putnam County, MO. On February 27, 1993 in Kirksville he was united in marriage to Margaret Woods.
George is survived by his wife, Margaret; three step-children, KC Woods of Kirksville, Connie Buck of Kirksville and Charles Woods Jr. of Texas; two step-grandchildren, Lathan Woods and Naji Aberham; and nieces and nephews, including Rick Gilworth & Sharon Pearson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Alta Clark and one brother, Melvin Gilworth.
George was raised and attended rural school in Putnam County, MO. He ran a machine shop and rebuild cars, tractors and trailers. He also did farming and raised cattle. He has lived in Kirksville the last 15 years.
He was a good hearted and giving man that hated to say no to anyone. He was always helping his neighbors. He loved to play bingo, go to the boats, and play games with the grandkids in the yard.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 13, 2016) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maple Hills Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
