Lillie Ann Swearingin, 70, of Queen City passed away Friday, (November 18, 2016) in the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
The daughter of Melvin and Merna (Smith) Ferdig she was born on July 13, 1946, in rural Lancaster, Mo. She was a graduate of the Lancaster High School, graduating with the class of 1964.
Survivors include two daughters Jennifer Lane and Tina Melchor both of Oskaloosa, Iowa, a son Charles Wolken of Glenwood, Missouri, eight grandchildren; Lodemia, Charles Jr., Dalton, Elizabeth, Xzavier, Cheyann, Robin, and Gabrielle, and one great grandson Zane. Lillie is also survived by four sisters Merdell Long and husband Richard of Queen City, Nancy McCallum and husband Donald of Lancaster, Janet Shilling of Worthington, and Sandra Williams and husband Bill of Independence, Mo., five brothers; Martin Ferdig an wife Linda of Queen City, Charles Ferdig and wife Debra of Lancaster, Carl Ferdig and wife Lynisa of Purdin, Steven Ferdig and wife Katie of Kahoka, and Fred Ferdig of Lancater. She is also survived by forty-one nieces and nephews, sixty-two plus great nieces and nephews, and six plus great great nieces and nephews and a son-in-law Hugo Melcher of Mexico.
Lillie is preceded in death by her father on April 11, 1988, her mother on April 7, 1988, a brother Marvin Ferdig on August 6, 1992, sisters Susan Holcomb on September 30, 2007, Carol Nolon in 2011, and Patsey Evans in 2014 as well as several nieces and nephews.
Lillie loved sewing, making crafts, and being with her grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday (November 21, 2016) in the Dooley Funeral Home with Pastor Sonny Smyser officiating.
