Richard (Jack) Earl Morrow, 84, of Unionville, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at the Putnam County Memorial Hospital.
Jack was born February 17, 1932, near Exline, IA, the son of the late Sidney D. and Mamie Fidelia (Allen) Morrow. Jack was united in marriage February 16, 1959, to Betty Jean Hendrickson who survives at the home. Jack was a long time member of the Putnam Co Rural Water District Board and for more than 50 years was a Local Mason in Cincinnati, IA, and a member of the Kaaba Shriners. Jack spent most of his life on his cattle farm, feeding out fat cattle with many trips to the St. Joseph market and annual trips west to buy the next year’s crop. In later years he switched to raising bred heifers. Jack never met a stranger and was a friend of all he met, playing cards at the local feed store and always good for a joke or two. Jack enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, riding around in the four wheeler or tractor and sharing his love for his cattle.
Survivors include two sons, Richard of Unionville and David (Lesa) of Ashland, MO; two grandchildren Garrick and Erin, both of Ashland; sisters Grace Spurgeon and Letha Bright of Centerville, IA, Mary Israel of Ames, IA, and sister-in-law Doris Morrow of Centerville, IA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Glen, Lester and Claude Morrow and sisters Zephyr Stansberry and Betty Bogle.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 17, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the Playle and Collins Funeral Home in Unionville followed by services at the same location at 11:00 a.m. with burial in the Unionville Cemetery with the Pastor Kevin Collins officiating.
