Marilyn Lois Williams

Marilyn Williams, 75, of Unionville, MO, passed away at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO, on Tuesday, December 20, 2016. She had been in declining health for several years.

Marilyn Lois (Walker) Williams was born in Washington, D. C., on February 23, 1941, the daughter of Lovel Woodrow and Lois Elizabeth (Cook) Walker, who preceded her in death. She was reared in Forest Heights, MD, and graduated from Oxen Hill High School. She worked as a secretary for the Internal Revenue Service for about 12 years after high school.

Marilyn moved to St. Charles, MO, when she was 30 years of age and lived a number years in that area. She was a stay-at-home mom for her three children: Wanda, Vicki, and Ron. She later moved to O’Fallon, MO, and worked as a church secretary for Oak Ridge Baptist Church and Harvester Baptist Church. Marilyn also loved singing in the church choir and teaching 3 year olds in Sunday School. Declining health caused Marilyn to move to Unionville, MO, in 2000 in order to be near her family.

Marilyn enjoyed doing crafts of all kinds, from scrapbooks to making earrings. She was very creative and expressed that creativity in beautifully decorating her home. She also liked to help with the bulletin boards at the Putnam County Care Center and at the First Christian Church in Unionville, where she attended. Marilyn liked to shop at garage sales and made a wonderful lemon meringue pie.

Marilyn is survived by her three children, Wanda Burns and husband Phil of Unionville, MO, Vicki Jowell and her husband Lawrence of Tyler, TX, and Ron Williams and wife Jennifer of Livonia, MO. Her grandchildren are Michael Burns, Danny Burns, Megan Campbell, Courtney Boone, Robert Jowell, Haley Jowell, Joseph Jowell, Danielle Dogan, Ronald Williams, III, and Collin Williams. Marilyn’s great grandchildren are Karsyn Burns, Kase Campbell, Raeleigh Campbell, Kellen Burns, Logan Burns and Mason Boone.

Funeral services for Marilyn Williams will be at Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2016. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Pherigo Cemetery, Unionville, MO
