Brenda Kae Madden, age 65, of Kirksville, MO passed away unexpectedly at Northeast Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, December 21, 2016.
Brenda is survived by her parents, Robert and Donna Cousins of DeWitt, IA; three brothers, Roger (Jill) Cousins of Cedar Rapids, IA, Ron and Robert (Tammy) Cousins of DeWitt, IA; one sister, Barbara Farwell of Gooselake, IA; six children, Joseph, Sheila, and Patrick Madden all of Kirksville, MO, Steven (Amanda) Madden of Pocahontas, IL, Christopher Madden of Greenville, TX, Angela (Sean VanWinkle) Madden of Wilmington, OH; four grandchildren (Skylar, Andrew, Anthony, and Logan), several nieces and nephews, and the father of her children, Robert Madden. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and brother-in-law, Steven Farwell.
Brenda was born on March 31, 1951 in DeWitt, IA, to parents Robert and Donna Cousins. She graduated from DeWitt High School in 1969. Brenda moved to Kirksville, MO where she attended Northeast Missouri State University, obtaining a degree in accounting. She was a stay at home mom until 1988 in which she began her long term employment with Country Kitchen. In 2000, Brenda pursued her interests in working with numbers. She began her employment with H&R Block in Kirksville, MO as a tax professional. She was very passionate about her job and loved doing taxes. Brenda was promoted to office manager of H&R Block in 2006. Other interests include: playing Bingo, cards, baking, cooking, and spending time with family. She was well known and loved by many.
There will be visitations in both Kirksville, MO and DeWitt, IA.
Visitation will be held in Kirksville, MO at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home on Monday, December 26, 2016 from 3:00 - 7:00 pm.
Following the Visitation in Kirksville, Brenda will make her way home to DeWitt, IA to be laid to rest.
Visitation will be held in DeWitt, IA at Schultz Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 3:00 - 7:00 pm with a vigil service at 7:00 pm.
Graveside services will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in DeWitt, IA on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 10:00 am.
