Stormy Schoonover, 22, of Livonia, MO, passed away at his home on Monday, January 2, 2017.
Nevada Storm Schoonover was born in Kirksville, MO, on January 9, 1994, the son of Rex and Bonnie (Hicks) Schoonover. Stormy grew up in the Livonia area of Putnam County and graduated from Putnam County High School in 2012. Stormy worked with Tim Bunnell in the lawn care business. He loved the outdoors, especially spending time along the Chariton River not far from his home, and he enjoyed rock hunting. Stormy was an awesome guitar player and had a deep interest in alternative, holistic medicines. He liked to try different kinds of food and was a wonderful friend, especially to his “adopted sisters” Cheyanne Hines and Kylie Prough. Stormy had a likable personality and a good heart. He was always willing to help those in need. He attended Omaha Baptist Church as a youngster and professed Jesus as Savior and Lord.
Stormy is survived by his mother, Bonnie Schoonover and her companion, Tye Caldron, whom he thought of as a Dad and a friend, of Livonia, MO, and his father, Rex Schoonover of Unionville, MO. He is also survived by a sister, Dakota Cooprider of Livonia and two nephews, Isetyn Cooprider and Axton Mann. Grandparents Keith and Mary Knowles of Livonia also survive as well as a half-brother, Carl Brown of Kirksville, MO.
Stormy was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Herman and Rosalee Schoonover, a maternal grandfather, Loyd Hicks, an uncle, John Wayne Hicks, and a nephew, Jensen Mann.
Funeral services for Nevada Storm Schoonover will be at Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, at 10:30 am, Saturday, January 7. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Friday, January 6. Interment will be at the Mitchell Cemetery east of Omaha, MO.
