Junior Cullor, 62, of Powersville, MO, passed away at the Putnam County Care Center in Unionville, MO, on Wednesday, January 11, 2017. Junior had lived at the Care Center since 2009.
Martin L. “Junior” Cullor was born in Unionville, MO, on October 11, 1954, the son of M.L. and Lenora (Buckallew) Cullor, who survive at home in Powersville. His family called him “Nummy.” Nummy had a wonderful good nature and was a loving person. He had an excellent memory, especially for family birthdays and sporting events. He was an avid baseball fan, following the Chicago Cubs, and he enjoyed watching football with his Dad. Nummy liked to do his daily paperwork which often included drawing. He loved card games with his nieces and nephews and he loved to play “Sorry” with his grandpa. Nummy liked to fish, attend family reunions and visit with neighbors. He was in to anything Batman, collecting all kinds of memorabilia and even dressing as Batman on Halloween to pass out candy to trick-or-treaters. Nummy loved to go to Texas for the winters with his folks and was a favorite in the RV Park. He loved to play pool at the park’s rec center.
In addition to his parents, Junior is survived by two brothers, Willie Cullor and wife Jeanne of Lucerne, MO, and Wes Cullor of Powersville, MO. His nieces and nephews are Sherry Vengels, Laura Cullor, Justin Cullor, and Jasmine Cullor. Junior’s surviving uncles are John Buckallew, Danny Buckallew, and Clinton Cullor.
A celebration of life for Junior is scheduled at Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home from 6:00-7:00 pm, for Thursday, January 19, 2017. Inurnment will take place at the Unionville Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the Putnam County Care Center and may be entrusted with Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
