Beverly Jean Moore, 80 of Kirksville passed away Wednesday (January 18, 2017) at Northeast Regional Medical Center.
The daughter of Cleo and Helen (Lowe) Jones, she was born February 5, 1936 in Kirksville, MO. On July 31, 1957 in LaPlata, MO she was untied in marriage to Pearl Edward Moore and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Bruce Jones and one sister, Gertrude Druce.
Beverly is survived by one son, Shane Moore and wife Diane of Kirksville; three daughters, Cheryl Cramp of Pflugerville, TX, Carol Barrickman of Montgomery City, MO and Debra Groeper and husband Jon of Warrenton, MO; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one brother, Robert Jones and wife Rose Ann of Indianapolis, IN; and one sister, Barbara Saulter of Macon, MO.
Beverly was raised in Kirksville where she attended school and graduated from Kirksville High School in 1954. She received her bachelor’s degree in Education in 1970 and her master’s in education in 1971 from Northeast Missouri State Teachers College. She taught school in Novinger for 28 years. She loved to roller skate and had won several trophies skating. She worked at Leo’s Roller Rink for many years.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Missouri State Teachers Association. She enjoyed traveling, reading, puzzles and her dog. After she retired she did volunteer work for Twin Pines, R.S.V.P., O.A.T.S., and Manor Care.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday (January 21, 2107) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Richard Northcutt officiating. Entombment will be in Maple Hills Mausoleum.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
