Jolene Cody, 87 of Columbia, MO passed away Saturday (January 21, 2017) at her home.

The daughter of Grover and Malissa Bell Peavler, she was born November 18, 1929 in Kirksville, MO. On July 10, 1949 in Millard, MO she was united in marriage to Claude Gail Cody and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brother and five sisters.

Jolene is survived by her children, Claudene Cable and husband John of Kansas City, MO, Stephen Cody and wife Teresa of Kirksville, and Zinda Cody of Columbia, MO; six grandchildren, Marty Cable, Ellen Luellen, Joseph Cable, Jonathan Cable, Wendy Treasure, and Kenneth Cody; nine great grandchildren, Taylor and Samantha Luellen, Josie and Jamus Cable, Ashton Conley, Robert and Zachary Ellis, Samantha and Nathanael Treasure; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jolene grew up in Kirksville and graduated from the Kirksville High School in 1948. She worked for several years at McGraw Edison and then for Hollister’s until she retired. She moved to Columbia, MO 20 years ago and worked for Sam’s Club until 2006.

She enjoyed her family, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, family reunions, quilting, cooking, ceramic’s, yard sales and party line.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday (January 26, 2017) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Jason Marlin officiating. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Cody, Jody Treasure, Jonathan Cable, Marty Cable, Joseph Cable, and Robert Ellis.

Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the
