Nadine Devee Hofstetter

Nadine Hofstetter, 95, of Unionville, MO, passed away at the Putnam County Care Center in Unionville on Monday, February 6, 2017. She had been a resident there for about four years.

Nadine DeVee Trimble was born in Appanoose County, IA, near Seymour, on July 8, 1921, the daughter of Cloyd and Ethel (Hellyer) Trimble, who preceded her in death. She was reared in the Powersville/St. John area of Putnam County and attended elementary school at the Scott and St. John schools. She graduated from Powersville High School in 1939. Nadine married Donald L. Hofstetter in Moline, IL, on August 29, 1943 and he preceded her in death on January 24, 1992. One son was born to this union, Ronald L. Hofstetter, and he passed away December 20, 2004.

Nadine worked at the Rock Island Arsenal during WW II. She and Don moved to a farm near Powersville in later years. Nadine loved to be on the farm, raising a garden and tending the livestock with Don. They later moved to Warsaw, MO, and lived there 36 years where Nadine worked at Bothwell Hospital in Sedalia, MO. They returned Unionville after retirement. Nadine was a hard worker and could often be seen in her yard in Unionville, planting flowers, mowing, and taking care of her home.

Nadine is survived by a brother, Dean Trimble and wife Polly of Unionville, MO, and a daughter-in-law, Deena Collins and husband John of Lucerne, MO. Her two granddaughters are Rhonda Henshaw and husband Chris of Plattsburg, MO, and Angie Pearson and husband Bobby of Unionville, MO. Her two grandsons are Tristan Henshaw and Gage Pearson. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Nadine Hofstetter will be at Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home in Unionville at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 10, 2017. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Unionville Cemetery, Unionville, MO.
