Floyd Riggle

Floyd Riggle of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 27, 2017.

Floyd Eugene Riggle was born August 18, 1940 in LaPorte City, Iowa, to Richard Ralph and Irma Lenora Riggle. He graduated from Don Bosco High School in Gilbertville, Iowa and entered the US Air Force where he served as a missile maintenance technician and trainer for 7 years. On June 24, 1961, Floyd married Celia Gdovin of Denver, Colorado. Floyd was a retired printing press technician, having served clients of Addressograph-Multigraph in Jefferson City, Indianapolis, Chicago, Cedar Rapids, IA and Denver for many years. In his retirement, he loved to read, mostly the Bible and books about the Bible. He was a seeker, always looking for God’s truth. His love of reading inspired his children with a love of learning and reading. Floyd also enjoyed researching his family history and was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Celia of Kirksville; four children, Keith (Paula Pebsworth) Riggle of San Antonio, TX, Michelle (Dub) Inlow of Rocky Mount, MO, Priscilla Riggle of Kirksville, MO and Adrienne (Bruce) Kenny of Portland, OR; two sisters, Shirley (Loren Niebuhr) Riggle of Fairbank, IA, and Artha (Arnold) Karas of Marietta, OK; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one brother. Floyd will be missed for the care with which he undertook every task, no matter how small, as well as his sense of humor.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 10 th at 2:00 p.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Jacksonville, MO.
