Jessie Worley
Jessie Pauline (Valentine) Worley, 73, of Princeville passed away and was carried away by the Angels while sleeping at 7:20 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2009 in the Emergency Room at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.
She was born to Paul Dewey and Ethel Florence Hamilton Valentine September 11, 1935 in Lucerne, Missouri. Jessie was married to Keith Reuben Worley on September 12, 1953. To this union three children were born; Debra Lynn Staker and husband Larry of Princeville, IL, Deanna Gail Hodge and husband Mark of Spring Bay, IL and Darryl Keith Worley of Princeville, IL; six grandchildren, Dr. Blake Keith Staker and wife Lisa, Dana Joan Frank and husband Zack, Mandy Bea Staker-Bay and husband Shawn, Trevor Lee Hodge, Cameron Dean Worley, Jessica Renae Lazzaro; four great grandchildren, Shelby, Jackson and Griffin Frank, and Cole Staker all survive.
Also surviving are Siblings; Alma Young and husband Bill, sister-in-law Fern Valentine, sister-in-law Mardell Valentine, sister-in-law Opal Valentine-Crawford; Sister, Amber June Michael and husband Nelson; Bonnie Jewell and husband Jack, and Connie Valentine.
Preceding her in death were parents Paul and Ethel Valentine, brother Warner Valentine and wife Mary; brothers, Joe Verlan Valentine, Sammy Valentine and Victor Valentine.
Also surviving is sister-in-law Shirlene Worley-Roberts, husband Bill deceased. Brother-in law Kenneth Worley and daughter Vicki also preceded her in death. There were a host of nieces and nephews who loved her very much and Jessie loved them.
Jessie attended rural schools in Putnam County, MO, and graduated from Unionville High School with the class of 1953. Jessie and Keith are members of Grace Presbyterian Church, Peoria, IL. Jessie entered the work force at a very young age assisting her parents with a very large family and family farm.
Since 1969 Jessie had a successful career in Real Estate at Traders which she continued until her passing. In addition to her career, she assisted Keith in various businesses and was mentoring her daughter, Debra Worley-Staker to follow in her footsteps with a career in Real Estate. Jessie loved her family very much and was relentless in her giving and serving them even to the evening before her passing. Jessie would not accept the fact that something could not be done; she would work and find a way to achieve or resolve the problem.
Funeral Services for Jessie will be at the West Liberty Baptist Church on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with a visitation on Thursday evening August 27th between the hours of 5:00 – 7:00pm at the Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home. It was Jessie’s wish to return to her birthplace for her final resting place at West Liberty Cemetery, Putnam County, MO where most of her ancestors preceding her in death have been laid to rest. Additional services were held in Illinois prior to her return to Missouri.
Memorial contributions can be made to Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria, IL or West Liberty Baptist Church in Unionville, MO and may be entrusted to the Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO.
