Helen Ilene Anders

Ilene Anders, 83, of Unionville, MO, passed away at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO, on Sunday, March 19, 2017. She had been a patient there for just a few days. Ilene had been living at the Kirksville Manor Care for the last three years.

Helen Ilene Anders was born in Koshkonong, MO, on September 24, 1933, one of triplets born to William Edward and Mabel Waltem (Dixon) Buckallew. Ilene graduated High School and on February 27, 1952, she married Kenneth Franklin Anders in Unionville, MO. He preceded her in death on December 15, 2013.

Ilene and Kenneth lived most of their married life in Putnam County. Ilene was a homemaker who enjoyed seeing her family and loved being around them. She and Kenneth liked to watch wrestling on television. Ilene enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and Kentucky Fried Chicken. She and Kenneth could often be seen sitting outside their home on Main Street watching the traffic go by. Ilene attended Broadlawn Baptist Church.

Ilene is survived by her children, Lesa Williams of Kirksville, MO, Anita Shifflet of Marion, OH, Gary (Vicky) Anders of Unionville, MO, Kelly Anders of Eldora, IA, and Tracy Anders of Kirksville, MO. Her grandchildren are Tina Williams, Gina Williams, Travis Williams, Angela Feliciano, Jennifer Shifflet, Waylon Anders, Steven Anders, Justin Anders, Shawn Anders, Sammie Michels, Kelli Anders, Terran Graf, Heather Barrera, Elisha Bunnell, Franklin Anders, Scott Williams, and Steffany Campbell. Several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren also survive as well as a brother, Glen Buckallew of Kahoka, MO, and two sisters, Delphine Owens (one of the triplets) of Independence, MO, and Phyllis Dively of Unionville, MO.

Ilene was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Williams, two brothers, Eugene Buckallew and Edward Buckallew, and two sisters, Lorene Davis Platt, and Nadine Anders (one of the triplets).

Funeral services for Ilene Anders will be at Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 22, 2107. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Pherigo Cemetery.
