Kathryn Nadine Dunham, 91 of Kirksville passed away Thursday (March 30, 2017) at Twin Pines Adult Care Center.
The daughter of Peter Quinten and Francis Arizone (Erwin) Dunham, she was born October 21, 1925 in Queen City, MO. She attended the Pleasant Hill School outside of Willmathsville and graduated from Brashear High School in 1943. In 1946 she attended Northeast State Teachers College and received her teaching certificate. She taught at Pleasant Hill School for several years where she taught some of her brothers and sisters. She worked at the Glove Factory in Edina from 1951 to 1953, the Lambert Manufacturing Company in Kirksville from 1954 to 1984 and then for the Travelers Hotel in housekeeping from 1986 until she retired. For 25 years she cleaned the First Church of God.
She was an active member of the First Christian Church DOC in Kirksville where she was famous for her snickerdoodle cookies. She loved to talk, garden, bake, cook, read and in her later years enjoyed crossword puzzles and embroidery. She was very well read and enjoyed keeping up on all the news.
Nadine is survived by her daughter, Debbie Fisher of Kirksville; two grandchildren, Amy Fisher of Kansas City, Mo and Quinten (Holly) Fisher of Merriam, KS; two sisters, Avis McBee of Memphis, MO and Karen (Lee) Epperson of New Sharon, IA; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Arlene McAllister and Deanna Fraizier; and two brothers, Bobby Dunham and Laverne Dunham.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday (April 3, 2017) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Pitney officiating. Burial will be in Willmathsville Cemetery following the ceremony. Lunch at First Christian Church, Kirksville, following the burial. All friends and family are welcome.
Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the
