Larry Hunter age 77, of Kirksville passed away Monday, April 17, 2017, at the Boone Hospital in Columbia, MO.
The son of Melvin and Ruby (McKay) Hunter, Larry was born September 23, 1939 in Ravanna, MO. On June 17, 1960 in Princeton, MO, he was united in marriage to Jerri Thogmartin who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Kory Hunter and wife, Tonia of Groton, CT; two daughters, Robin Groff and husband, Kevin of Garland, TX and Chandra Pierson and Don Miller of Kirksville, MO and six grandchildren, Schuyler Groff, Colton Groff, Nicholas Pierson, Tori Pierson, Anna Hunter and Audrey Hunter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Larry was reared in Mercer County, MO where he attended school, graduating from the Ravanna High School. He moved to Kirksville in 1967 and had also lived in La Plata, MO. Larry was a Route Salesman for Kitty Clover Potato Chips and Sunbeam Bread. He also worked for Truman State University and was presently employed at A.T. Still University. Larry was an avid Royals and Cubs baseball fan and also a Kansas City Chiefs fan. He was also a lifelong supporter of the Truman Bulldogs. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. His hobbies included working in the yard and caring for his two dogs.
Larry has been cremated and burial will be at a later date in the Ravanna Cemetery in Mercer County, MO.
There will be a visitation with the family on Saturday, April 22, 2017, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the
