Joyce Ann Billington, 65 of Novinger, MO passed away Monday (September 14, 2009) at Kirksville Manor Care Center.
The daughter of Jack and Mary (Lotz) Risher, she was born January 23, 1944 in Annapolis, Missouri. On January 13, 1962 in Kirksville, MO she was united in marriage to Gale Billington.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Gale, two daughters, Kimberly Snyder and husband Michael of Green City, MO and Deann Pope of Novinger, MO; five grandchildren, Carrie Neeley, Stephen Cunningham, Anthony Pope, Bailey Pope and Raven Pope; two brothers, Roy Risher of Greentop, MO and Marvin Risher of Novinger, MO; two step sisters, Alice Claybrook of Kirksville and Nellie Sizemore of Novinger, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step mother, Sarah Emma Risher; two brothers, Paul Risher and Floyd Risher; and step brother, Charles Hodges.
Joyce attended school in Annapolis, MO. She has done child care out of her home since she was 13 year old. She loved children and enjoyed seeing the children she had cared for later in live.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and also enjoyed to sing and play guitar.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday (September 17, 2009) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Alan Coonfield officiating. Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Cunningham, Anthony Pope, Kevin Risher, J.R. Risher, Joe Conway and Tim Williams. Honorary bearers will be Mike Snyder, Shane Pope and Caleb Risher.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday (September 16, 2009) at the
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
