Lee Partin, of Nehawka, NE, (formerly of Queen City, MO) passed away at the Bryant-Lincoln General Hospital in Lincoln, NE, on Friday, October 2, 2009. He was 69 years of age.
Lee William Partin was born June 14, 1940 in Glenwood, MO, the son of William “Bill” Floyd and Jenny Belle (Mullins) Partin, who preceded him in death. He graduated from Queen City High School in 1958. He began work as a heavy equipment operator in rock quarries and eventually worked with Martin-Marietta Construction for 45 years, retiring in May of 2008. Lee drove a truck, operated a bulldozer and a front end loader throughout the Midwest. He had been in Nebraska since 1982.
Lee married Bonnie Barnes on December 24, 1961 in Novinger, MO, and she survives at home in Nehawka, NE. Two children were born to this union: Scott and Donna. Lee liked to collect guns and was a member of the National Rifle Association. He was also coin collector. Lee liked John Deere tractors and anything with the Caterpillar named attached to it. He was a quiet, reserved man who enjoyed his home life.
Those who survive Lee including his wife are his son, Scott Partin and wife Karen of Lincoln, NE, and his daughter Donna Brockett and husband Dave of Marshalltown, IA. Lee’s surviving grandchildren are Nick Hunt, Ryan Hunt, Katrina Colborn, Brandi McClish, and Nathaniel Partin. His great grandchildren are Christian Hunt, Aliya Kluck, Skyler Colby, Chace Hunt, and Seth McClish. A brother, Jerry Partin and his wife Sharon of Morrison, IL, also survives.
In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amber Partin.
Funeral services of Lee Partin will be at 2:00 pm at Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, on Thursday, October 8, 2009. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Unionville Cemetery.
