Raymond Selby

Raymond Selby, age 91, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2009, at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksvile, Missouri.

He was born on November 5, 1917, at Brashear, Missouri, the son of Elden and Della Mae Vaughn Selby.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Herschel Selby, and three sisters, Ola Fern Selby, Lela May Selby and Mildred Wheeler.

Raymond is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Raymond was raised at Brashear, Missouri where he received his education. In his earlier years he was employed with Santa Fe Railroad, Bob Strickler Grain and Shahan Sawmill. During his 40 years at Twin Pines he was a great assistant to many residents. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed visiting with friends.

In 2005 he was honored by R.S.V.P. of Kirksville for 30 years of volunteer service.

Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2009, at the Brashear Cemetery. Reverend John Picker will officiate the services. There will be no visitation.

A Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on November 5, 2009, at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville, everyone is invited to attend.

Memorials in memory of Raymond Selby may be made to the Twin Pines Adult Care Center Resident Care Fund.
