Bobby Duane Ragan 84 of Kirksville passed away Friday (October 30, 2009) at Northeast Regional Medical Center.
He was born September 7, 1925 in Colym County, Texas, the son of Troy Lawrence and Clarice Naomi (Hughes) Ragan. He served in the United State Marine Corps during World War II where he was stationed in the Phillipanes. He received the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. After his discharge he worked for Exxon Oil Company, was a business owner and later was a ranch manager until he retired.
He was a member of Hamilton Street Baptist Church in Kirksville.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Joyce of Kirksville; step daughter, Charlene McNeil and husband Gary of Colleyville, TX, step son, Frank Miller and wife Carla of Queen City, MO; sister, Betty Jo Casey and husband Robert of Granbury, TX; brother, Floyd Ragan of Portland, OR and three step grandchildren, Jesse McNeil of Texas, Coleman and Cody Miller of Queen City, MO.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday (November 3, 2009) at Park View Memorial Gardens with Reverend Charles Jackson officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville.
