Marjorie Rose Marie Gosney, 68 of Kirksville passed away Friday (November 6, 2009) at her home in Kirksville.
The daughter of John Clyde and Cecilia Viola (Pointer) Lane, she was born November 4, 1041 in Kansas City, MO. She received her education in Havanna, IL. She attended one year at Truman State University and one year at Central Bible College. Following her education she made her home in Quincy, Il where she was devoted mother and homemaker. In 1967 she moved to Edina, MO where she was a preschool teacher and involved in children and youth ministry at the Edina Baptist Church. For fifteen years she was a daycare teacher at the Fun Factory in Kirksville where she was known as grandma to everyone.
She enjoyed reading and her home was filled with butterflies, angels and Garfield. She was a member of Christ’s Family Church in Kirksville.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Vicki Gosney of Edina, MO, Jennifer Gosney Holcomb and husband Mark of Hannibal, MO, Terry Gosney and wife Laura of Novinger, MO and Kevin Gosney of Palmyra, MO; three grandchildren and a good friend, Phyllis Blankinship of Kirksville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers in infancy and a grandson, Derek.
Funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday (November 10, 2009) at Christ’s Family Church with Brother Damon Sturm officiating. Music will be provided by Serenity Bohon, Felicity White, Cora Elrod and Mel Hoffman. Private family burial will be held Wednesday (November 11, 2009) in Park View Memorial Gardens.
Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday (November 10, 2009) at the church.
